The company started to expand into new frontiers of the toy industry. Four decades ago LEGO begun to target women with the release of furniture pieces and dollhouses; in 1974 this introduced their first human figures, called Minifigures; and in 1979 this expanded in space with sets highlighting astronaut minifigures, rockets, lunar rovers and spaceships. The Successione series first showed that same year, a line of rings elements marketed to young girls. This era also found the creation of a managing structure, with Godtfred Kirk Christiansen’s young man Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen subscribing to the bureaucratic staff and working to modernize the company’s manufacturing methods.

The 1972s also found the introduction of something that allowed customers to decide on certain stones they wanted to purchase and build their own products, rather than get pre-made sets; this was popular with adults, as well as children. In the same decade, Profano branched out into ancient territory with all the Castle topic, and in 80 the company added their first teach sets to its lineup.

In 1989 Lego unveiled the Pirate template, and with it lots of pirate ships, wasteland islands and treasure. This company also expanded its array of facial expression, adding beards, eye downtimes and lip stick in addition to the standard two eye and smile. Some mature Lego collectors resented these changes, selecting the more basic faces of earlier products.

As Seglar expanded to a huge international corporation, it had to find ways to meet up with the requires of its big name buyers like Aim for, Wal-Mart and Toys ‘R’ Us, which demanded greater selections and faster transport times. To keep up with these demands, the company did start to reduce total production moment for new products by causing more using of computerized assemblage systems.
